چکیده
Applying a microscopic model, we study theoretically the quasiparticle excitation of twodimensional topological insulator (TI) being in proximity to high-Tc superconductor. In momentum space, induced pairing term TI layer includes both singlet channel and triplet channel, leading C4 rotational symmetry breaking energy bands spectra. For cylinder geometry, zero edge states may appear but they are localized at upper boundary. finite-size system with open boundaries, boundary disappear Majorana bound emerge two lower corners. All results can be understood well through exploring order parameter anomalous Green's function.

Spontaneous breaking of rotational symmetry in superconductors.
We show that homogeneous superconductors with broken spin/isospin symmetry lower their energy via a transition to a novel superconducting state where the Fermi surfaces are deformed to a quasiellipsoidal form at zero total momentum of Cooper pairs. In this state, the gain in the condensation energy of the pairs dominates over the loss in the kinetic energy caused by the lowest order (quadrupole...
متن کاملRelativistic Crystalline Symmetry Breaking and Anyonic States in Magnetoelectric Superconductors
There exists a connection between the creation of toroidal moments (TM) and the breaking of the one-cell relativistic crystalline symmetry (RCS) associated to any given crystal [1] into which non-trivial magnetoelectric coupling effects (ME) exist [2] . Indeed, in this kind of crystals, any interaction between a charge carrier and an elementary magnetic cell can breaks the RCS of this previous ...

Rotational symmetry breaking in the ground state of sodium-doped cuprate superconductors.
We use an extended t-J model to study a single hole bound to a Na+ acceptor in Ca2-xNaxCuO2Cl2. For parameters suitable to cuprates, the ground state has a twofold degeneracy, corresponding to even (odd) reflection symmetry around the x (y) axes. The conductance pattern of the broken symmetry state is anisotropic as the tip of a tunneling microscope scans above the Cu-O-Cu bonds along the x (y)...
متن کاملRotational Symmetry Breaking in Multi-Matrix Models
We consider a class of multi-matrix models with an action which is O(D)-invariant, where D is the number of N × N Hermitian matrices Xμ, μ = 1, . . . , D. The action is a function of all the elementary symmetric functions of the matrix Tμν = Tr(XμXν)/N . We address the issue whether the O(D) symmetry is spontaneously broken when the size N of the matrices goes to infinity. The phase diagram in ...
